Wow. The first two weeks have come and gone.
just.like.that.
I feel like time here at V-town is super weird. It's fast and slow and crazy. I can't keep track of the days sometimes, cause they zoom by so fast... but other times, a day won't end and I just want to go back to bed. Not too many of those days thus far. PTLOL!! (praise the Lord out loud!!)
So what are my days filled with? Cooking, praying, planning, laughing, baking, praying, talking, writing, smiling.
Side note: I like smiling, You can share it and [usually] get it back right away. It's like a present or something.
I've cooked 20 meals for 120 people, I've baked with friends, I've prayed with friends, I've stayed up till all hours. There's been lots of butter and sugar and flour. There's been coffee. There's been hugs. There's been phone calls. There's been games. Someone bought me Starbucks. Someone gave me chocolate. Someone keeps blowing my days out of the water with unconditional and genuine Christ-like love. I get to do what I love. I get to work with people I love. I get to wake up every morning with the knowledge that *that* day is a gift from my Jesus. Jesus is constantly blessing me...with gentle and unexpected "I love you's," with loads of answered prayer, with an inexplicable peace and joy that could only come from HIM.
He is my portion.
This song has been burning through my mind the past two weeks. It is one of the deepest cries of my heart. Something that I never want to lose sight of. ever.
All This For Your Glory
Laura Hackett
There's just one chief end to men's purpose
And one main reason for existence.
All man's vain and high ambitions
Will one day be brought low.
For You alone will be exalted in that day
Worthless goals will be exposed as idols that we've made
For You alone will be exalted in that day
You'll be seen as rightful King
And from our hearts we'll sing.
All this for Your glory
All this for Your name.
All this for Your glory
That in all things You may have the first place
That in all things You may have preeminence.
To treasure You above all others
To love You like we love no other
Your greatness soon will be uncovered
And all the earth will then know.
Put me anywhere
Just put Your glory in me
I'll serve anywhere
Just let me see Your beauty.
xoxo
